My, What A Big Bottle You Have

Marina City serves as an ultra modern backdrop for one of Fleischmann’s famous whiskey ads from the late 50s-early 60s – this one, 1964.  The ad campaign served as something of a foreshadowing of the sexual revolution in that the ads featured women — usually only shown in ads populating party pictures or holding serving trays — here, pretty and smartly dressed (read: high status), glancing appreciatively at the suited man with the enormous bottle of whiskey.  The gals can’t seem to resist the inherent humor of the big bottles…    Their approving gaze and the modern settings undoubtedly sold a lot of whiskey.6175565440_0f1c8f21d5_o
